Purified
bottled water and tap water are different in significant ways:
Distribution
system
Tap
water is distributed along thousands of miles of tubing which have been in use for
many years, while Glacial purified bottled water comes in sterile bottles, sealed
in a completely hygienic environment.
Chlorine
A
big difference between Glacial purified water and tap water is the fact that Glacial
does not use chlorine. Chlorine gives water an unpleasant taste. Glacial uses ozone,
a product of oxygen, to eliminate bacteria at bottling. Ozone leaves no unpleasant
taste in water.
Regulations
Being
a consumer product, bottled water is extensively regulated and needs to meet stringent
quality and safety standards. Tap water is considered a public utility service.
After
reviewing hundreds of suggestions, we chose the name "Glacial" considering
the following three factors
- We needed a name that made reference both to water and to ice.
- We were looking for an original name, a word that had never been used in the bottled
water industry. Something, for example, that contained the word "aqua".
- The word "Glacial" evokes purity, cleanliness, freshness and cold.
Glacial
bottled water and ice need to pass five purification processes which ensure the cleanest
and purest water in the market. Other bottled water and ice companies use no more
than one to three purification processes.
